Mainstream Academia and Media Cover-up for Evolution
Is the mainstream academia covering up for evolution and uniformitarian geology? Many creationists think so. Academians who propose creationist ideas are often ridiculed in their profession and are commonly labeled as “anti-science.” Scientists who believe in creation face limited career options and have a more difficult time finding appropriate jobs in their professions. Creationists who work in academia or the mainstream media must hide their views or face discrimination. Most mainstream academic journals will not publish literature that promotes the creationist viewpoint. Scientists who believe in creation have difficulty obtaining research grants from the government. The mainstream media and the entertainment industry also seem to be working with academia to cover-up creationist ideas in television programs. The idea of a global flood and a young earth is seen as religious in nature because of the connection to Biblical scripture in the Book of Genesis. Therefore, secular institutions wish to remain secular and not promote doctrines that agree with the Bible. Most mainstream news media articles describing the discovery of a new fossil or geologic formation will automatically be preoccupied with the age of the new discovery, usually in the millions or billions of years. These media stories are just an opportunity to promote evolution and old-earth uniformitarianism while the uninformed general public is misled. There seems to be an "evolutionist trinity"-the government funds the mainstream academia and the mainstream media backs up academia in order to preserve evolution and millions of years while discrediting the Bible. A fourth entity that defends evolution is the entertainment industry, which overwhelmingly features content that supports evolution and discredits creation and the Bible. Individuals featured on mainstream or Hollywood-based television programs who believe in creation are ridiculed and portrayed as ignorant.
