Bent and Folded Rock Layers Show Evidence For the Creation Model
Hard sedimentary rock layers are found around the world that are bent and do not show any sign of fracturing. Evolutionists and old-earth geologists claim these layers were folded by tectonic forces gradually and extremely slowly over millions of years of time. Creationists and advocates of a young earth, however, have noted that these layers could only be folded or bent if they were wet. The global Genesis Flood, believed to have occurred 4,500 years ago, gives a logical explanation of how these layers were deposited, soaked in water for months, and folded without fracturing. Dry sedimentary rock layers would have likely fractured as tectonic forces were applied. Large scale rock layers can be seen around the world in mountain ranges folded and bent at extreme angles without any sign of fracturing. Some layers are folded in a syncline shape or anticline-bell shape while some layers have a series of bends or folds in a continuous pattern. If one could imagine these rock layers being bent or folded after being soaked in floodwater for several months, this explanation could easily be made. The mainstream, old-earth explanation of slow folding over millions of years is weaker and cannot explain how these rock layers could be bent or folded so sharply without fracturing. The evidence for the global flood of Genesis is substantial and gives evidence of the Biblical creation time frame of 6,000 years.
