Brain Evolution or Creation?

Brain evolution has many issues that mainstream scientists have difficulty explaining. Particularly with the human brain, evolutionists and mainstream scientists have claimed that brain size has increased over time, according to the fossil record. In other words, older human ancestors had smaller brain sizes and younger, more "evolved" humans have larger sized brains. However, the Neanderthal group, which are claimed to be human ancestors, have larger average brain sizes than today's humans.

Creationists, however, assert that Neanderthals are not human ancestors but are fully human. The smaller brain sizes of supposed human ancestors are not proof of macroevolution. These supposed human ancestors are not actually human ancestors at all but are unique animals of the primate groups that were designed by God and appeared during the creation week about 6,000 years ago. These unique animals have smaller brains than humans because that is how they were designed and created to be.  Primates and humans have no relation and primates are not ancestors of humans as the evolutionists claim. The only link that primates and humans have in common is that each were uniquely designed by God. Other animals that are not considered close relatives to humans have larger brain sizes than humans, such as the whale, and therefore brain size cannot be a determinant of intelligence or a proof of evolution.

In addition, the origin of many functions of the brain are difficult to describe by random chance development. These functions include cognition, or the mental process of acquiring knowledge and understanding by thinking, experiences, and by interactions with the environment. How does the brain recognize the concept of consciousness and alertness? How does the brain of a living thing make decisions on its own without being controlled by an outside source and how does this evolve?

Another big hurdle to explain the evolution of the human brain is the development of speech and language, as no other living thing other than humans has the ability of speaking. How did this evolve if no other "simpler" living things have the ability, including the supposed closed human relatives, the primates? Another important function of the brain is sleep, and the development of this is difficult to explain. How can the brain stay alive and continue to function while being in a state of sleep? Within the concept of sleep is the phenomena of dreaming, and therefore how does one explain the origin and development of dreaming with the development of the brain?

Perhaps the greatest function of the brain and the most difficult to describe is in the realm of the supernatural and spiritual. How does one explain the spiritual experiences that those of the Christian faith experience if the origin and development of the brain is a natural and random process over millions of years. Humans are the only living creations that can have spiritual experiences with the all-powerful God who designed and created all of life.
