Cats are the most common pet in the world and have many features and characteristics that show design as part of a unique creation event by an Intelligent Designer. Like many animals, cats have abilities and senses that are more advanced than humans and therefore show that cats are a unique creation 6,000 years ago that were given what they needed to survive in their environment as part of a unique design and not part of a random chance gradual evolution over eons of time.

Cat Facts
Sleep an average of 14 hours a day.
Have flexible bodies.
Sharp teeth of cats help to hunt small animals.
Primarily carnivorous meat eaters, but will eat non-meat foods sometimes.
Commonly mark their scent with urine marking, or rubbing.
Cats and dogs only sweat through their paws.
Each cat's nose pad is unique, like a human fingerprint.
The world's most popular pet.
Over 500 million domesticated cats exist.
Ancient cultures used domesticated cats.
Average weight: 8 to 11 pounds (4-5 kg).
Average length: 18 inches without tail.
Average height: 9 to 10 inches.

Average lifespan: 12-15 years.

Hunting Ability and Skills
Cats are strong at prey stalking and pouncing.
Padded paws on cats create quiet walking, aiding in sneaking on prey.
Walk on their toes, giving them greater athletic ability.
Sharp claws, which help in hunting prey.
Cats are more active in the morning and the evening.
Cats give "gifts" to owners, specifically killed prey.
Cats can run up to 30 miles per hour.
Cats fall on their feet most of the time, showing their sense of balance, even large falls.
Cats are territorial, marking their scent on people and objects.

Emotions and Behaviors
Purring is a sign of emotion, and can occur when happy or ill.
Yawning is a sign of sleepiness, relaxing, or lack of interest.
Hissing in cats occurs when feeling uncomfortable or threatened.
Kneading is a behavior where cats alternatively push their front paws back and forth to relax. This behavior originates during infancy and nursing.
Chattering is a normal behavior where cat chatters their teeth as a sign of emotion, excitement, or frustration.
Cats lie belly-up as a sign of comfort and relaxing.
Tail wagging in cats is a negative sign and shows unhappiness.
Cats like to hide in baskets, boxes, or enclosed spaces, often curling up. This behavior could be an instinct for protection.
Poop-burying is somewhat of a mystery in domesticated cats, but researchers believe it could be an instinct to avoid attracting other animals or as submission to their owners.

Cat Abilities
Strong night vision is associated with cats, much stronger than humans.
Far-sightedness in cats occurs as cats have trouble seeing up close, and can't see some colors.
Strong hearing and smelling ability is associated with cats.
Cats can hear sounds at higher frequencies than humans.
Licking and grooming themselves, cats often produce hairballs.
Tongues of a cat have a unique rough surface, aiding in cleaning ability.
Whiskers and long tails help in sensing and balancing.
Whiskers can help detect movement nearby, changes in air pressure, air currents, like radar.
Cats walk like camels and giraffes-right feet first, then left.
Cats meow to humans, not to other cats or other animals.
Cat genome is very similar to the larger tigers.
Cats don't taste sweetness or sugar, unusual among mammals.
Cats have five front toes on each foot, normally only four back toes.
Cats can jump several times their length.
Cats can climb trees but can't climb down head first because claws are curved and must come down backward.
Cat sensing ability allows cats to taste from the air.
Cat smelling ability is much stronger than humans, but not as strong as dogs.
Cats were introduced to the Americas during Colonial times to get rid of rodents (complying with the creationist model of species introduction from the Mount Ararat region to the rest of the world).
Some cats can predict earthquakes because of their sensitivity to vibrations.

Finding Home and Magnetic Field
Cats have an ability to find their way home after being transported away or going away for long distances. Stories of cats being separated hundreds of miles or more from home and found their way back on their own have been reported. Researchers have discovered that cats, along with many other animals, have an ability to use the Earth's Magnetic Field as an internal compass to find their way home. In addition, cats are known to use their other senses, such as smell, hearing, sight, and other senses to create a scent trail and find their way home. Cats are also known to have unique senses and instincts in addition to those known to humans that help them find their way home.
