The Geography of the Earth and its Natural Wonders
by Owen Borville

Explore places around the world from nature and history that showcase and give evidence for Creation and the Bible.

Geography is the role that geographic landscape plays in the formation and development of civilization, from land use, trade routes, economic activities. Fertile farmland, river valleys, coastal, islands, flat plains, hilly land, mountainous landscapes determine the type of development that is observed. Civilization developed based on the landscape and resources available to sustain the civilization. Climate, plant and animal distribution, and health are also factors in geography that affect the development of civilization.

The Geography of Asia
From the largest mountains in the world, the Himalaya mountains and the Plateau of Tibet form the roof of the skyline of Asia. Deserts are to the north until the frozen tundra of Siberia dominates the landscape. In southeast Asia, limestone rock towers cover the landscape and a diverse plateau exists in India. Large lakes and rivers dominate in central Asia below the north Asian lowlands and east of the Ural mountains. Fertile river valleys line east Asia from the Himalayas to the Pacific Ocean.

South America's Natural Wonders
Mount Roraima and the Guiana Highlands

were first explored by humans while the Amazon river valley flows eastward toward the Atlantic Ocean. In between the Amazon Basin is the Guiana Highlands to the north and the larger Brazilian Highlands to the southeast. The large Patagonia region covers the southern portion of the continent with river valleys east of the southern Andes mountains. Deserts and salt flats are well known in the Andes mountains.

Antarctica's Natural Wonders
Antarctica's Warm Past
The Geography of Antarctica
Antarctica is an ice-covered continent
located at the geographic south pole, however, this continent was once ice free and had a warm climate. Numerous fossils and land features found under the ice indicate a past warm climate, including river valleys. Subglacial lakes and rivers are found under the ice that once supported diverse life, and microbial life still exists here, along with a diverse assortement of living organisms such as sea sponges and shrimp-like creatures.
