The Human Transport of Life After the Flood and Rafting

There is speculation that some animals and insects traveled by raft after the Genesis Flood to certain parts of the world, such as isolated islands. These animals are thought to have traveled on several forms of vegetation, such as floating tree trunks and vegetative mats that would have been in the floodwaters during and after the Flood. For example, the Galapagos Islands contain unique species that have scientists questioning their origin. The origin of these unique species is an issue both for creationists and evolutionists. Both creationists and evolutionists propose that certain species traveled to these isolated islands in the world by vegetative rafts, which were aided by strong ocean currents. While evolutionists do not accept the global Genesis Flood event, they must have an explanation of how certain species traveled to certain isolated islands and the raft explanation is the most common one. However, the human transport explanation continues to be the best answer to the issue.
After the Flood, Noah and his descendants knew how to construct sea craft and likely constructed more of these and traveled throughout the world, transporting other humans and animals along the way. Many wonder how lemurs and other unique species traveled to Madagascar, a large island located 260 miles (419 km) southeast of Africa and separated by the Mozambique Channel. Some speculate that lemurs possibly rafted there on vegetative mats aided by strong ocean currents. While today’s currents are flowing in the southward direction through the channel away from Madagascar, proponents of the raft transport believe that past ocean currents could have flowed in different directions, including toward Madagascar. The possibility of a land bridge during the post-Flood Ice age could also have opened a land pathway for the unique species to travel from the mainland to Madagascar. Land bridges were also possible to Galapagos, Australia, and North America during the Ice Age, as sea level was much lower at that time. However, the possibility of animals travelling on vegetative rafts across the open ocean for hundreds or thousands of miles is far-fetched. Without a land bridge, the best possible explanation of human and animal migration around the world continues to be maritime travel by boat, which has been occurring for more than 4,500 years since the Genesis Flood.
Evolutionists have trouble explaining how monkeys, which are known to originate in Africa, came to South America and the explanations that are given today include the unlikely raft theory or the land bridge theory. Another evolutionist explanation is the break up of the continents by plate tectonics, where the African and South American continental plates supposedly "split apart," however, evolutionists believe that this event occurred before monkeys "evolved" or appeared on Earth. The appearance of monkeys and many other unique species in South America and around the world is a big problem for evolutionists and the raft theory seems very unlikely, despite the approval of the academic world. New species have been introduced to new lands around the world for many years dating back as far as human history stretches. In addition, plant life is believed by creationists to have regrown after the Flood as the waters receded and seeds were spread by the floodwaters.
As humans have inhabited the Americas for several thousand years and many others have explored the Americas while transporting food, supplies, and animals, the idea of human transport of life is conceivable. Europeans began to heavily explore Africa, Asia, and the Americas in the 15th century in search of trade routes with the East Indes while Polynesian exploration of the Pacific Ocean dates back more than one thousand years. Therefore, the best explanation for the appearance of monkeys in South America and the unique animals of isolated islands like the Galapagos and Madagascar is by human transport and species introduction, which has occurred for more than 4,500 years since the global Genesis Flood.
