The Kurkh Monoliths are two Assyrian stone stele that describe the reigns of two ninth century B.C. Assyrian kings, a father and his son, Ashurnasirpal II and Shalmaneser III.
Discovered in 1861, one of the monoliths contains a reference to Ahab, King of Israel.
The two monoliths date to the ninth century B.C., from 852 B.C. and 879 B.C.
