The Geography of North America
by Owen Borville
North America Geologic Map
The Appalachian Mountains of the east and the Rocky Mountains of the west.
The Great Lakes: Ontario, Erie, Huron, Michigan, and Superior, and more lakes further northwest. The Mississippi River System from Minnesota to Louisiana and its bluffs of sediment. The eastern coastlines are mostly sandy while the west coastlines are more rocky. Deserts and canyons exist in the west, while lush, green forests occupy the east. The Cascade mountains of the west coast and the Ozark Mountains in the midwest The Great plains are between the Rocky and the Appalacian mountains. Grand Canyon, Arizona is one of the largest canyons in the world and was carved by the Colorado River and is part of a canyon that originally begins in Utah. Niagara Falls, New York sits on the U.S. Canada border and runs over a fault escarpment. Yellowstone, Wyoming is known not only for its wildlife but also its thermally hot geyser springs and is near Grand Teton mountains.
