Bible
Jesus explained the Parable of New Wine, as accounted in the Book of Matthew:
17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. Matthew 9:17
This Parable of Jesus is believed to refer to the promotion of the New Covenant or New Testament over the Old Testament. Jesus encouraged his followers and others to embrace the New Covenant and stop following the old one that had been rejected and ended. The New Covenant or New Testament is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the new covenant after the old covenant, the Law of Moses, was broken.
Mark also accounted Jesus' parable:
22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles. Mark 2:22
Jesus explained the parable further in Luke 5:37:
37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. 38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. 39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better. Luke 5:37-39.
