What is a Prime Number?

A prime number is a number that is only factored by one and itself. A prime number can only be a product of one and itself. No other number can be multiplied to get a prime number except one and itself.

How does one determine if a number is prime?

A prime number is not divisible by 2.
A prime number is not divisible by another prime number.

Prime Numbers from 1 to 100:

2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, and 97.

Only 1 x 2 = 2
Only 1 x 3 = 3
​Only 1 x 5 = 5
​Etc...

​According to scientific research, it was found that the cicada insects use prime numbers to come out of their burrows and lay eggs.
