Reptile Versus Mammal Differences

Reptiles and mammals have too many differences to be part of an evolutionary line. Mainstream evolutionist scientists claim that reptiles and mammals are part of an evolutionary line that evolved randomly over millions of years and resulted in many supposed anatomical changes. Creationists assert that reptiles and mammals are each unique creations designed by an Intelligent Designer and are not the product of millions of years of evolutionary changes.

Reptiles include scaled, cold-blooded, legless snakes, and four-legged lizards, turtles, and crocodilians, while mammals include a variety of hairy, four-legged, warm-blooded animals.

Reptiles do not have hair while mammals have hair all over their bodies. How does hair appear suddenly out of nowhere without creation? Reptiles have scales while most mammals do not (except the pangolin). Reptiles have scales in the upper layer of the skin while fish have scales in the lower dermis layer.

Mammals have oil and sweat glands while reptiles do not. Where did these glands come from? Many reptiles can also change the color of their bodies, unlike mammals.

Mammals have live births (except the platypus and echidna) and produce milk for their young with mammary glands while reptiles don't have these glands and lay eggs. There are a few exceptions to egg laying reptiles, along with the boa and some snakes. Reptile babies don't need parents to take care of them and leave them after birth, unlike mammal babies who need their parents for a significant period of time.

Mammals have a four-chambered heart, compared to the reptilian three-chambered heart.

Reptiles are cold-blooded, while mammals are warm-blooded. Reptiles cannot maintain their own body temperature and must use the sun to warm themselves or go in the water to cool off. Therefore, reptiles cannot survive in cold-weather climates because their environment controls their body temperature while mammals can live in a variety of extreme temperature environments.

Reptiles have uniform-shaped teeth, while mammals have teeth of different shapes and sizes used to tear into meat such as incisors and molars for grinding. Mammals also have a middle ear and a jaw from a single bone, while the reptile has several bones making up its jaw.

Mammals require more energy than reptiles as reptiles can go long periods without eating and do not use energy for maintaining body temperature like mammals do. Reptiles can go up to a year without food, unlike mammals that need food much more often. It also takes more energy to digest and excrete food, therefore if you are not eating, you are using less energy.

With all of these differences, it is inconceivable that reptiles evolved into mammals over millions of years. Each occurs in the fossil record suddenly with no transitional forms. There is no fossil evidence of a evolutionary transition between reptiles and mammals. Reptiles and mammals each must be a product of a special creation by an Intelligent Designer.
