Shark Evolution or Creation?

Sharks are known as one of the most intimidating sea creatures, with their long slender and sleek bodies, cartilaginous skeleton, and sharp teeth that can easily tear flesh apart. The sharks are claimed to have evolved over 400 million years ago by mainstream scientists, however their morphology has changed little since their first appearance in the fossil record, questioning their ancestral history. Creationists believe that sharks were created on Day 5 of Creation Week along with the other sea creatures. These unique creatures were the product of a creative design by a capable Intelligent Designer and not the product of hundreds of millions of years of evolution. Evolutionists claim that sharks shared a common ancestor with man over 400 million years ago, but the morphology of sharks and man are completely different.

While there is some variation within the shark species, the basic morphology includes an elongated body with smooth skin, fins, and its trademark razor sharp teeth around its jaw. The shark also has several gill slits on its sides near the head that are used for respiration. Commonly known varieties of the shark include the great white shark, the tiger shark, the blue shark, the mako shark, the thresher shark, and the hammerhead shark. The hammerhead variety of the shark is extremely unusual and unique with its flattened head and evolutionists have difficulty explaining the origin of this unique morphology. Creationists accept the sudden and unique creation of these creatures during the Creation Week as designed by an Intelligent Designer.

In addition to their morphology, sharks are known to have the capability to detect their prey by use of electromagnetic receptors inside their bodies. This electro-sensitivity is known as the shark's sixth sense. These natural biologic sensors inside their bodies can detect electromagnetic fields that all living things produce and scientists recognize that sharks have the greatest electrical sensitivity of any known animal, as sharks can even detect prey underneath the sand. Scientists also believe that the electromagnetic receptors inside the shark body are also sensitive to the electromagnetic field of the Earth, and this sensitivity helps the shark in its orientation of movement and its navigation throughout the sea.

Scientists also believe that sharks also have a seventh sense, which is known as the lateral line. These lateral lines contain canals with neurological cells that feature sensory hair cells that can detect changes in ocean currents, including small vibrations in the water flow, which can help detect the location of other animals or objects nearby.

Just a brief examination of the unique features of the shark gives strong evidence of a living organism that was designed by an Intelligent Designer.
