Turtle Shell Patterns

Turtle Shell Patterns

All turtle shells have 13 larger scutes...what a unique design!

Include the smaller surrounding scutes and turtles have 13 larger scutes and 28 smaller scutes surrounding.

Some have also noticed that this 13-28 pattern follows the lunar calendar and therefore follows the phases of the moon: 13 phases per year with 28 days per phase.

Voronoi Pattern: In addition to the number of scutes, the scutes are also arranged in what is known as the voronoi pattern, which is a pattern found in nature that favors efficiency: the nearest neighbor, the shortest path, and the tightest fit.

These patterns showcase the uniqueness and creativity of an Intelligent Designer.
